Product and Characteristics
Piave DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) Cheese is exclusively produced using cow’s milk from the Belluno valleys. It is a hard, cooked curd cheese offered at five different ages.

History and Tradition
The province of Belluno is at the northernmost tip of the Veneto region, an area dominated by some of the most famous and awe inspiring peaks of the Dolomite mountains.

Production Zone
No name other than Piave can better identify the Belluno territory’s most important typical cheese, born of the dairy tradition of this land which is crossed in its entire length by that ancient river.

Protected Designation of Origin, better known with the acronym PDO (DOP in Italian), is a mark of quality that protects European Agro-food products of excellent quality.

The Consortium for the Protection of Formaggio Piave was established in 2010 to protect the PDO (DOP in Italian) from misuse, counterfaiting and unfair competition.
